The Jude Bellingham Transfer Saga

Jude Bellingham is one of the hottest talents available this summer, with the top clubs in the world trying to buy him. So, in this article, we will look at a few clubs that could potentially sign him in this summer’s transfer window and who are our favourites to sign him.

Being only 19 and already one of the best midfielders, he will cost the club money, and Dortmund does value him highly. When writing this, he is valued at $120 million. With this price, only a few clubs can afford him. Several clubs have pulled out of the race to sign him, with that being Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and PSG. Therefore, this only leaves a handful of clubs that would be able to buy him. So, the club we will look at will be looking at is Manchester City, Real Madrid and for him to stay at Dortmund.

Real Madrid

In the last few weeks, Real Madrid has been linked very heavily to Bellingham, as this is the club that he is most likely to go to. For Bellingham, Real Madrid has history and is always fighting for the league and, most importantly champions league. Real Madrid also has the world’s best midfielder, whom Bellingham can learn from and develop his craft. He is one of the best in his position, but by learning from Modric and Kroos, he can become one of the greatest of all time. One drawback for Bellingham from Real Madrid is he is not likely to start and would have to earn his place there. However, real Madrid would likely be able to afford Bellingham, so it would look like a very good move for Bellingham if he wanted to learn from the best in the world.

Manchester City

A club that has always been in the race to sign Bellingham. They have the money that will be needed to sign Bellingham. With City having a good relationship with Dortmund after signing Haaland last season, they like to get a good deal for Bellingham. However, the only point that may affect City is that they had not had much history apart from the last 20 years when their investment from the east overtook. Bellingham would like to sign for a club with a rich history. It has been reported that Bellingham has turned down a move to City as he doesn’t want to move to a club with plastic fans. If this report is accurate, then it is likely that City will not sign Bellingham, meaning that Bellingham will not return to England this year. The only club in England that had any chance to sign him was Liverpool; however, they have been priced out of the move.

Staying at Dortmund

The other option to move to Real Madrid is to stay with Dortmund for another season. He is guaranteed to start most games, being their star man and is loved by the fans. Dortmund would love to sign him and keep Bellingham at the club. He can be seen to be able to take the club to the next level if the club can build the team around him. He would enable them to challenge for the Bundesliga title as they have done this season. But they will also be able to push to win the Champions League. However, the only way it looks like Bellingham will stay is if they only sign him for one more season and have a release clause in the contract which would come in next season for around $80 million, which would mean Liverpool would be able to afford him.

Overall, Bellingham has limited options of where he can go and how he can afford him. He wants to go to a club with a rich history which only leaves a handful of clubs. Bayern would not be able to sign him with them being rivals of Dortmund. Liverpool can’t afford him, and City do not have the history he is after. So, this only leaves two options, stay at Dortmund or sign for Real Madrid. Reading through the recent rumours and reports, it looks like he will sign for Real Madrid. They can offer him exactly what he wants, and he can learn from some of the world’s greatest midfielders. So, this is a no brainier. My only concern is that his game time could be limited, but we will see if he can break into the first team next season.
